Remembering 2020: Film and television industry lost many gems, check here
2020 will be always remember as an unfortunate year, everyone has suffered many losses. The year is full of roller-coaster, when we welcomed 2020; no one has ever thought that this year would be going very tough for everyone. Our film and television industry has lost several gems this year.
Let’s remembering them and their contributions:
Irrfan Khan
Irrfan was one of the finest actors in our industry. He took his last breath on April 29, 2020. Irrfan was also honored with India’s fourth highest civilian honour “Padma Shri” in 2011. Also, he had won many awards.
Rishi Kapoor
Rishi Kapoor died on April 30, 2020, he was 67. We lost Rishi Kapoor just after the next day of Irrfan Khan demise. It was shocker news for everyone, within two days we had lost two gems.
Wajid Khan
Bollywood music composer Wajid Khan was died on June 1, 2020. He was the younger brother of Sajid Khan. The duo Sajid-Wajid contributed many chart buster songs in our industry.
Sushant Singh Rajput
The death of Sushant Singh Rajput was very shocking. He died on June 14, 2020, aged 34. Sushant started his career from television serials. He debut in Bollywood in 2013 with film Kai Po Che and his last movie was Dil Bechara was released on July 24, 2020.
Sameer Sharma
Sameer Sharma was a television actor; he died by suicide on August 6. He was last seen in the Star Plus popular show Yeh Rishtey Hai Pyaar ke.
SP Balasubrahmanyam
The legendary playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam last breathed on September 25. The veteran singer Balasubrahmanyam was awarded by two highest civilian honour ‘Padma Shri’ and ‘Padma Bhushan’. He also has won six National Film Awards.
Saroj Khan
Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan also known as Masterji took last breath in Mumbai on July 3. She started her career as a child artist and also she was a background dancer at 50s. In a career of 40 year, Saroj Khan choreographed 3000 songs.
Divya Bhatnagar
Divya Bhatnagar was a television actress. She last breathed on December 7, at the age of 34. Divya appeared serials like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
Jagdeep
Bollywood actor Jagdeep passed away on July 8. The 81-year-old actor died due to health related issue. He had been work in more than 400 films.
Preksha Mehta
Preksha Mehta died by suicide on May 26. She was a television actress and worked in many shows.
Sejal Sharma
Sejal Sharma was a television actress died on January 24. She was part of the show Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji and famous for her role of Simmi Khosla in the show.

Asif Basra- Asif was a Bollywood actor, he died on November 12.
Nishikant Kamat– He was an Indian filmmaker and actor. Nishikant passed away in a Hyderabad hospital on August 17.
Rahat Indori– He was a poet and lyricist, Rahat indori passed away on August 11.
