Disasters 2020: People are all set to bid adieu 2020 and waiting to welcome 2021 with good hope and positivity. When people had been welcomed 2020 no one have imagined that this year is going to be turn into tragedies. This year made many disasters in India as well as in whole world. People have been suffered a lot this year, many have lost their lives, and many people become jobless.
There are many things happened in one year that changed everything. Definitely this year will be remember by all of us. From corona virus to locusts, to cyclone, to landslides.

Covid- 19 Pandemic
The pandemic is not over yet. Covid-19 first case in India was surfaced on January end in Kerala, a student studying in Wuhan University, was returned to India. This Covid-19 (coronavirus) was declare as pandemic by World Health Organization (WHO). For first time ever whole world witnessed pandemic. Covid-19 is the deadliest virus for humankind.
Another catastrophe was locust swarmed. Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh were the worst hit of locust swarms. The locust can destroy crops within a second.
India was already suffering from Covid-19 pandemic and on May West Bengal was worst hit by natural disaster ‘Cyclone Amphan’. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee had said, this cyclone has worst hit Bengal than the Covid-19 pandemic.
Another cyclone strike Maharashtra state on June. Within two weeks’ time, Nisarga was the second cyclone to hit the Indian subcontinent after Cyclone Amphan.
Assam Floods were the havoc not only for human but as well as for animals too. Many people lost their lives in the floods; this flood not spared animals too. But, that was a challenging time for everyone, on one hand we had to fight with coronavirus pandemic and on the other hand we had to come out from floods.
Kerala floods and Kozhikode Plane Crash
In August, due to the heavy rainfall floods affected Kerala. The floods also resulted in many deaths and it affected other things as well. Because of the heavy rain Munnar suffered landslides in which 52 people died and some are still missing.
Another tragedy is a plane crash. The Air India Express Flight 1344 was crashed on the runway of Calicut airport due to flood and poor visibility. In this plane crashed, 18 people died and several were injured.
In Kerala these was two tragedies which took place in a single day. On morning landslides and on evening plane crash.
Visakhapatnam Gas Leak
Visakhapatnam gas leak are also called as Vizag gas leak, which took place on May 7, 2020 early morning was an industrial accident. In this accident, according to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) 11 people were died and more than one thousand people became sick after the exposed of gas leak.
There are some other disasters which include:
Uttarakhand Forest Fires- This fire was started in late May.
Assam Gas and Oil Leak- This accident also referred as the Baghjan gas leak.
This year people have witnesses many disasters. As this year is ending, people have faith that 2021 will come with good hopes, positivity and it will give new opportunity to everyone.
